We are a .500 team. Period.

After a 98 loss season, that's a large improvement.

We have discovered some gems in the young guys:

DRod is a revelation

Suarez has been mostly solid

Moronta has been nails

Slater has been solid

Duggar in SSS looks good

Hanson has been a good contributor

Mac was great, until he got hurt.

I'm probably forgetting someone, but yeah, developing the young guys.

Longo has been disappointing, though he got hurt

Belt can't stay on the field

Cueto is hurt

Scrabble is hurt

Bum was out two months

Cutch has been lukewarm, but a good team guy

Panda contributed some big hits before getting hurt

So I can kvetch all I want, still, it has been much better than last year. Not as good as we'd hoped, but still not as bad as we'd feared. Where do they go from here?

Yeah I mean after being the worst team in baseball for 1.5 years and doing mostly nothing major, this is a pretty good improvement this year. Trending upward, even if it doesn't really feel like it.

Guys the outcome doesn't matter here. The season is over. .500 teams that can't score runs don't go to the playoffs. #weaklink didn't score any runs again, big surprise.

What matters far more is D Rod is the freaking truth! Lightning in a bottle. Will he get figured out? I really hope not. If not he's your Cueto replacement for next year.

The dude has a 2.34 ERA! C-R-A-Z-Y

Sucks he's been cheated out of a few wins this year but he's a big boy he will understand when they sign him to real money in a year or two.

Imagine what this could have done this year if only they didn’t have a barren wasteland of a farm system...

Suarez, Moronta, Slater, Duggar, Black, Stratton.

Or if they just learned how to sift through the dumpsters...

Hanson, Rodriguez, Holland, d’Arnaud.

Seriously, though. Where would this team be if they were left relying on the guys who actually were supposed to carry the team?
