Pads have 2 on (2nd and 3rd), 1 out. Bottom 12.

Kevin Correia is pitching for LA. Didn't know they acquired him.

LA going with 6 infielders. Interesting move with all the space to cover in Petco. Granted any ball to the OF will score the run.

Wow, there are 4 infielders on the 1st base side. This is weird.

BOOM IT'S A KNOCKOUT... Giants win big 13-2 over Brew Crew

The Giants put on their boxing gloves on Friday night and beat the crap out of the Milwaukee Brewers. Where in the hell did this performance come from? It was Manny Pacquiao night at the yard as Pacquiao showed Pagan a few pointers before the game as Pagan was a amateur fighter earlier in his life. Giants score 13 runs on 19 hits as everyone came out fighting to get some respect they thought they deserved from the critics who don't believe they can beat winning teams. The Brewers also must of thought that the Giants were channeling the 1927 Yankees because the hits came in waves and their punches landed right on the Brewers chins.

The Giants scored 3 runs in the first and never looked back. They ended up scoring all their runs in the first 5 innings in what was a one sided fight . Buster Posey has that 2012 MVP run going right now as he went 5-5 and could of had more but Bochy rested him midway through the game. His 4 singles and a triple drove in three runs yet again. His third day in a row with three RBI's. His average is now up to .297 on the year and is hitting .500 over his last nine games. The kid that looks like Posey's little brother Joe Panik shined in the two spot in the order getting 4 hits ,scoring twice and raised his average to .312 in this his rookie year. Pagan used those boxing tips to jab away at the Brewers just missing the cycle by a HR. Pence was 3-4 collecting 3 RBI's in the five hole and this line up suddenly has gotten deeper with him in that spot. Blanco had another HR and 3 RBI's also scoring 2 runs.

Not lost in all the offense was the Pitching performance of Vogelsong who must of thought he hit the lottery with the run support tonight. He went 7 strong innings giving up 4 hits and 2 ER adding 7 more strikeouts to his year. It was a fun night at the yard as I got a chance to see my 4th win in a row and a knockout win is a chance to celebrate as the Giants now close to 3 1/2 back in the West as the Dodgers lost. The whispers in the wind down at 24 Willie Mays Plaza have turned into a full out scream of we believe. Gotta keep the momentum going Saturday and hopefully the bats stay hot and they drop the Brewers to the canvas again. Giants big knockout tonight 13-2.

Go Giants !!

If you are going to be so critical of others voicing concern or stating the importance of games, you may want to refrain from doing the same thing you are criticizing.

And for the record, I did respond, with a rather long post, actually.

OK, I think there's been a misunderstanding of tone (damn you internet!)

I wasn't being critical the other day, I was genuinely curious if you felt losing more than 1 game to the Rox was a season ender. I'm actually very much in agreement with you about them needing to show they can beat good teams (like Milwaukee) and clean up on bad ones.

I'm also not critical of those voicing concern. I'm critical of trolly shattiness in early July.

Anyway, I think we're all pretty close to the same page on this team. Could be wrong.

A lot seems to be swinging the Giants' way lately, after all the hardship we had to deal with before. Fun pennant race!

Giants are now over .500 (20-19) post-ASB

Giants are 53-15 when scoring first
Giants are 19-47 when not scoring first

Giants are 42-17 when getting 3+ walks
Giants are 30-45 when getting two walks or less (0-1 walks is 12-25)

Giants have homered in 10 straight games, and are 7-3 in that stretch.

Morse continues to show no power, very puzzling. 14 homers pre-ASB, 2 homers post-ASB.

I very much like Panik hitting #2, and Pence hitting #5. Makes 1-5 very solid.

May have to upgrade Guppy to at least a walleye or northern pike, but still not shark mode yet.

After 14 days on the road to CA, NV, WY, CO, UT, and AZ, I get to go home tomorrow.

And today is my 34th anniversary, and spending it at Redondo Beach.

Congrats Stokes!

Who wudda thought? Gs lead MLB in avg for August with .282. And we're almost in top 10 in Hrs which was where we were in Apr+May. In Jun we were 28th in HR and Jul were 23rd. What a roller coaster this season has been.

Thanks, phlap. The season is like life, lots of ups & downs, twists & turns, and milk!

Congrats! :suds:

Why all the traveling?

If you lived in Modesto, you'd know why. ;)

Actually, I had a week long preaching gig in Red Feather Lakes, CO (they paid me and gave us free use of the cabin.) Then we drove to Arches and Zion, and then anniversary in Redondo Beach, which we used to do every year when we lived in South Pasadena.

Mazel TOV, Stoksey. The wife and I will be celebrating ourselves in a couple of weeks.
