I have said it before, I will (likely) say it again…

He isn’t ready to be a closer.

Well, tonight the problem was that he had to come in and rescue Brebbia, who has been almost criminally overused. If Doval starts a clean inning and only goes one, I have more confidence there. Still, you gotta stink up a few before (and while) you're a closer. Bweezy agrees.

He cleaned up Brebbia’s mess just fine. On only a few pitches. Then he got his clean inning and started calling fools in off the street to walk. He would miss the ground if he dropped a pitch.

And, btw, I am 100% AOK with still sending him out there this season. This is a lost season. I don’t care about our record this this year. Burn the lessons into him.

Are you talking about Leone or any of the nine players in the Giants' lineup?
Gonzalez. He made ANOTHER bone-headed base running mistake in the top of the 10th (as the ghost runner, no less).

Missed the extra innings. Was listening to the game on Sirius radio (got a new car, but that is a whole other story) int eh 9th inning. The Twins' announcers were talking about how Doval couldn't throw strikes to lefties.

Since Cobb surrendered seven and six earned runs in back-to-back starts on May 17 and 23, he has lowered his ERA from 6.25 to 3.81 after Saturday night's outing against the Twins.

In that time period…

14 G, 79.1 IP, 2,84 ERA, 76/24 K/BB, .238 BA, .610 OPS…

.301 BABIP(!!!) and 1-4 WL

This dude has been bent over and “loved” real good by this team this year.

Alex Cobb has a 2.94 FIP on the year, which moves him into 6th place in the NL among starters with a minimum of 100 innings pitched.
