For the record, I'm not implying that the Indians are some kind of model franchise, or that they without their issues, just simply that in terms of relevance other than that month in 1986, the Mets rank below them.
This is exactly what I'm talking about in terms of certain Mets fans' delusions.
The Indians have made the playoffs more times in the past 20 years than the Mets have in their entire 54 year existence.
Hey, if your bit is "well, the Mets won a championship in 1986," then you've got me there. That championship was awesome, and Stand By Me was a great movie.
If you want to talk about relevance, since that championship three decades ago, the Indians have made the playoffs twice as many times as the Mets have.
Then throw in the delta between the two teams' payrolls over those years, and it doesn't take a statistical wizard to figure out which one has the market cornered on ineptitude.
w/e helps you sleep better at night, dude....but something tells me you're still a raging insomniac.
Stop it, stop it! Can't you guys see you're tearing me apart!?!?!
Well I don't go to sleep drunken on my own delusions, I can tell you that much.
