Other schtuff happened yesterday, but nobody cares. Today is all about thee 2 hawtest teams in the Bigs: San Diego, winners in 7 of their last 10 contests, and the red hot Mets, owners of the league's longest current win streak (tied, Twins) at 6 straight.

Waveth, if thou haveth, thy penile appendages

So many games left against shitty teams...7 more w/Philly, 3 w/Boston this weekend, 6 w/Miami, 7 w/Atlanta and 4 w/Cinci. The only real challenge left are the 6 w/Washington, and they look like they're beaten already.

Now, being a Mets fan, you're ALWAYS waiting for the other shoe to drop, so it's conceivable that 3 arms blow out of the rotation and every bat goes cold for 3 weeks. Or, the nationals get their shit together and go on an insane, late-season run like they have in the past few seasons.

But I'll take where we are at this point.

And they're playing the Phillies again today. Holy shit. Do they ever play Major League Baseball teams?

I believe I mentioned the quad with Cincinnati.

Oh my God?! Is this correct?

Seriously, the weakness of their 2015 schedule has to be historic. God bless 'em. Hope they do well for you in the playoffs, Hu.

Oh yeah, it's what they have left. (Plus three w/the yankmees, which I intentionally left off).

But you know they have the potential to shit the bed against all of them.

Muck the Fets. And muck any of relatives who worked for the Fets. Now let's talk about some real teams like the Blue Jays who keep teasing the Yankees by letting them stay in the race.

My prediction for today is Ryan Howard breaks the single game HR today.:comeatmebro:

And I became a grandfather again at 2 this morning.:hammer:

With a 6.5 game lead on the Nats and a schedule rife with triple-A teams, I would be very surprised if the Mets weren't playing October ball.

That's what everyone said in 2007. How did that turn out for the team that has the Y barely hanging on.

Oh, I've been shocked before, so it could happen. I'm just saying the odds aren't good.

Their schedule is fucking ridiculous.
  • Their remaining opponents combined record is 397-487
  • Their only good opponent is the Yankees for 3 of 36 games left
  • Measured by records, 75% of the remaining Mets' schedule is made up of five of the eight worst teams in the majors (PHI, MIA, CIN, ATL & BOS - combined 265-368)
  • Almost 50% of their remaining games are against three of the four worst teams in baseball (PHI, MIA, CIN - combined 153-226)
This is the expertly decorated and delicious frosted topping on the historically cakey schedule that the Mets have enjoyed this season.

It's truly amazing to me.

It's not a shtick, just facts.

I'm not sure if you're calling me a tribal member because I'm an Indians fan, or because I'm half Jewish. If it's the former, based on records and strength of schedules, I don't think the Mets are that much better of a team than the Indians, so that's kind of amazing. If it's the latter, 3,000 years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax, is amazing.

Speaking of the Indians, they pulled themselves to a half-game out of the basement. I hope they can keep it that way - I've been nervous. This would be the first year ever for them to finish last place in the AL Central. :hope:

btw: I too am part jew...

also...the Mets are >>>>>> Indians (and it's not even close...regardless of schedules)....so you can climb down from whatever ledge you happen to be clinging to this fine morning.
