That is weird. So they stole at least 6 bases on the road trip. That's pretty close to the amount of extra base hits (9 vs 6).

It depends upon the team and the pitcher. Tonight, you KNOW that 3 runs is pretty insurmountable by a team with Pence and Panik out, and Posey sucking. Further, you also KNOW the odds of Vogey being solid the rest of the way are slim. So, not only would the Giants need to score 4 tonight (unlikley), they'd need to shut the Pirates out the rest of the way (very unlikely). Add it together, and you've got basically a game that's over.

Even Fangraphs has us at a <10% chance to win. How you enjoy futilely watching for that 1 in 10 shot is beyond me. Life is waaaaaay too short for bad baseball.

But apparently not too short to type away in a thread about a game you aren't even watching and thereby tick off a lot of Giants fans.

The line has stopped moving.

Pence is sorely missed. He makes a 1.5 run per game difference. Our difference on the roadie was only 0.5, so we could easily have had a winning roadie with Pence in the lineup (based on averages, I know, I know).

A day off, then the Chubs. Let's repay those bastages for their kindness at the Friendly Confines.
