1) Anyone who has a stake in the Dodgers (by definition)

2) Jerry Jones (by definition)

1. Meh, yeah I guess....current owner group seem like good human beings just big spenders...don't know if I loathe them yet.

2. Nice call...or Dan Snyder? Michael Jordan?

OK, this clown show in Chicago is officially bullshit. By now they shoulda suspended the game, play the rest tomorrow. If they are gonna call it a Cub win, they can't make it wait like this. If they are gonna suspend, suspend.

By rule, I don't think they can suspend. Either they keep playing, or Cubs win. Naturally, Boch and staff lobby for resuming.

Cluster Fluck goes Chicago's Way Gaints Lose 2-0

Well the Cubs now have finally figured out how to win ballgames. Just let it rain and have the grounds crew cluster fluck the whole night. Another rule that makes baseball look bad and needs to be changed. One of the weirdest nights in baseball history. Giants lose 2-0 in a rain shorted 4 1/2 inning game. Cubs win Cubs win ! Strike up the Wrigley band. Maybe they can ride this new strategy to a World Series. Only in Chicago.

Giants drop 4 1/2 back in the West . Tonight goes down as the Chicago Cluster Fluck.

Go Giants !!

Bot 6, tied at 2 with a runner on first and 2 outs, Tulowitzki was facing David Huff, TyCo in LF, Hicks at 2B

Fun changes!

Ridiculous.

MLB should do the right thing and let the game be resumed this afternoon. The stupidity of letting something like that take a toll on the Standings during a Division/Wild Card race is off the charts.

Unfortunately, the rules are very clear. The game is over.

A similar situation apparently happened to the Rangers a few weeks ago (so they are saying on KNBR), so allowing this game to continue at this point would open Pandora's box.

Game over. Giants lose.

Yet another rule that needs fixing.

In the grand view of everything, we cannot get TOO upset about this. This is the counter to the overturned call at the plate from last week. We are now 1-1 in games that we were trailing going into the controversial official decision.

Not horrible, I guess...

Try telling Krukow that. Might be the most pissed off I have ever seen him about a screw up. You gotta be pissed about stuff like this and the screw up last week or things won't change.

I understand the rules. That doesn't make it right.

As Andy Dufrense said in Shawshank Redemption......is there really a need to be so obtuse about it?

As an add on, the part I am most pi$$ed about isn't the loss itself......it's the keystone cop routine that took 5 hours to get through in order to make that decision. Not a good look for MLB or the Cubbies.

Exactly. :agree:

While I agree with cal that karmically speaking it's probably a wash with that other game (the play at the plate), the bullshit handling of yesterday is the issue. The home plate call was handled fairly quickly, with the rule applied properly (the rule itself probably needs tweaking).

In yesterday's case, if the Cubs had handled the rain delay properly there'd be no outrage, it would just be bad luck (REALLY bad...if they call the game literally 1 minute earlier while Posey's still up it's not an official game). But between the Keystone Kops groundscrew (and who can really say they didn't fuck it up on purpose to get the win?) and the 5 hour decision, it was a whole different animal than the call in the White Sox game.

From what I have been hearing on KNBR today, it sounds like it was more so on the Giants for the LONG delay in calling the game. Sabes and Boch were working HARD to get the game in and did not want to concede it.

I also believe that both of these issues will cause rule changes in the off season. Suspending games will be opened up a bit to allow either the umpire crewchief on site or the commissioners office to have more leeway in calling one; and the obstruction call will be tightened up to allow for some umpires discretion (I still agree with tz that the rule already exists - it just needs to be enforced).

Fair enough, but the whole thing would've been moot if the Cubs handled their business.
