Doubt it.

Last year was an outlier. Everything that could go right, did go right. (Except in the playoffs). We would have settled for an 82-86 win team last year.

This year, very few things that can go right has. Webb, Rodon, Joc, Gonzalez are the few positives this season. Everyone else seems to have aged, gotten creaky, gotten hurt, gotten sick, regressed to the mean, etc.

Not sure how much this is on Kap. Some of his management decisions are puzzling, but I recall some of Noggin's decisions were also puzzling.

To lead off the 8th, Kap pinch hits Joc for Slater, despite Slater being 2-3 on the game. (I know it is a righty-lefty thing) and hitting .274.

Meanwhile, Mercedes is hitting .211 and is hitting 3rd in the inning, why not hit Joc there?

Doesn't matter, as Flowers just grounded into a 1st pitch double play.

Mercedes singles and then Ruf (RHH vs RHP) makes the third out.
