The new arena in Quebec City will be ready for the start of next season. Bring back the Nordiques.

Yeah, last time I was in Miami, I considered going to a panthers game, but it was way too much of a shlep
Much like Arizona, had I been actually in Phoenix, no way I would have made it out to Glendale.

Oh, my bad.

Bad attendance seems like it's going to be a reoccurring thing when it comes to Panthers games this season, especially after they reduced the capacity of their building by covering up sections of the upper deck and are coming off a home-opener that featured the smallest opening night crowd in the history of the franchise.

I misread this.

Still doesn't change the fact that minor and college hockey teams get better attendance than the Panthers are getting and the people in south Florida seem to care less now than ever before.

Seven out of every 10 people now moving into South Florida were born abroad —more than a third of the entire region is foreign-born. Largely, but not exclusively, Hispanic, they come from dozens of different countries that are a mélange of race, ethnicity and history. More than a third of South Florida's population today is Hispanic, about 2.1 million residents — roughly two-thirds of the state's entire Hispanic population. At least 50 percent of the population of South Florida moves every five years.

Is there a new mayor in Kansas City? Last time I looked, he wasn't exactly a fan of NHL hockey at the Sprint Center.

It seemed to me like he couldn't stand Bettman and the expansion hoops. I am pretty sure he'd welcome someone moving there and bringing revenue with them.

Also, if you bring back the Scouts, you're moving an Eastern team back West. You don't have that issue with Quebec City and you also restore the Habs - Nords rivalry.

I'd prefer balanced conferences first.

They apparently stopped giving tickets away for free, which has effected (affect?) the attendance already. It's time to move them though. Yes, Florida teams need winners to support their teams (as evidenced with every other FLA team...all of them), but these numbers are dismal...and there are some good players on that team worth watching.

There was a college hockey tournament at the Sprint Center a couple years ago that was supposed to be the big showcase for the new arena. It lassoed much less attendance than desired and anticipated. I'm sure that helped the cause.
