Not that I put a lot of stock in it, but it would be interesting to get some empirical numbers on that rather than anecdotal. Maybe it puts the hitting-team to sleep, thinking “we got this one”??

I haven't researched it, but my gut says that teams hitting leadoff HRs win more often than they lose.

That would be my gut as well. But if two guys with a combined over 100 years in MLB say different, I will at least consider it.
