I think Ackley has been replaced by an android.

Great strategy there boys. Put the shift on and then pitch it to him on the outside corner so he can hit it where they ain't. Shift sucks!

If that was us, the baserunner would have kicked the ball for an out.

Okay, so I posted that I gave up on the game and left to smoke some...lettuce...in the 7th.

I will continue to do so every day until we lose.

I'm still not convinced that Ackley has turned it around but he's gaining ground on that.

Kind of douchey comments from Jack Z to the fans today, he may be right about not wanting to screw the future to win this year but he sure came off like a dick the way he said it.

I think the Rosenthal/Morosi piece really bothered him.

He seemed to be trying to talk more to other GMs in that interview than to the fans listening on the radio.

Agreed I don't think that was pointed towards the fans at all, more towards the media.

I've been working a lot lately so I've only really seen highlights and a few minutes of most games, but Ackley looks to be much more balanced in his swing lately. He doesn't look like he's pulling off on everything like he did for 2 years, instead his body is staying in the box and leaning more up the middle, letting him cover the outside corner and extend his arms.

I hope this really was a simple mechanical fix that someone finally spotted with him and has got him closer to being back to his rookie form.

Gotta give credit on that 8th inning AB from Zunino. He is usually a sucker for that off speed pitch low and away. He was able to lay off a couple off speed pitches off the plate and take advantage of 2-0 fastball. Hopefully an AB like that is a learning experience from him and he can grow from it. I think he is just some plate discipline away from being a .240-.250 hitter which is fine by me.
