I have a different perspective on LA now. I don't think they will make a trade for Price, because if you can't do with with Kershaw, Greinke, and Ryu in the postseason, your problems are bigger than one starting pitcher, and you'll need to save those assets to fix those problems.

I dunno, Haren and Beckett have been less that stellar lately, and they have an open check book.

How soon will the Uggla experiment be over here at SF?

I hope they trade for Price. Given it will cost them Joc Pederson, +

They will have to pay Gordon, Price, Jansen and others. Plus they'd still have the questions in the OF and at CF (Do you keep Puig there?)]

They don't care what it costs. We're talkin' Yankees West here.

You missed my posts from earlier. I actually think they did a decent job today of working counts, that sequence there with Arias and Blanco was just awful though.

They actually played scrappy today, and kept battling. The skill level is not there to match the Dodgers. Blanco, Arias, Uggla (now 0-8 as a Giant), all fill-in material at best. Peavy did OK, his defense let him down.

Arias us unlucky in his PH, as he hit the ball very hard, but right to Uribe. My question remains, why not work Crawford over to second? Small ball is not Noggins' style, I know. But when you have trouble scoring runs, don't you need to change things up a bit? Whatever the hitting strategy is right now, it sure as hell is not working.

Man, even scoring first could not save us from this sweep.

Isn't this where your bench coaches step up start giving suggestions? Even John Wooden changed things up a bit when prompted by his bench coaches, as when UCLA went to a diamond and one zone against E. Hayes and Houston in the '68 Final Four game, even though Wooden was always a man to man defense guy.

I think Peavy did pretty well today, his defense severely let him down though. He was getting ground balls, not a lot of hard contact. I approved (not that my opinion ripples the world).

I agree!! The Dodgers don't care about players salaries. Hell they have a great TV contract and are averaging over 46,000 fans per game at home in attendance this year. That will come out to over 3,700,000 fans this year.

Yeah but if the Dodgers can get Price, they will have a good 4th starter and what happens if one of the other starters gets hurt?

It doesn't look like the Rays are going to be sellers, though, so Price is a non-starter.

Lester, however....

But Wilson ain't that bad of a pitcher for the Dodgers. :suds:

????

He got a scoreless inning yesterday, but he has been a gas can this year. And his pitches were not snapping last night like they should be for a slider-pitcher.

You follow him closer than I do at this point, but his stats and the eye test disagree with your statement.
