Well, #6 draft pick at the moment (Pads has a worse record that us last year, so they get the tie-break).

We are now last in the NL West and would have the 6th pick. A loss tomorrow and Twins win and we would be 5th. Granted there are months left

Sky's the limit as far draft pick order goes for us as we continue to crash to the floor and eventually through the basement.

This is beyond old.

Giants are now 16-40 when not scoring 1st. You'd think, just for a moment, that they would have some urgency about doing just that. But there appears to be no urgency in the 1st inning. Just hack away.

1-10 tonight with RISP. Leaving 5 men on in the last two innings alone.

Giving up a solo jack to former RF Nate the Great.

The brakes are out. The emergency brakes are out. The airbags have failed. The crash is imminent, and the bus is gaining speed.

There are too many Pence rumors flying around, so he will almost certainly be traded. I then expect to see either Brown or RK getting significant time the rest of the way. Maybe even a Torres DFA just to sure up PT for the kids.

One can hope...

I thought the G's might have a chance to do something post ASB

Alas.

Runs Scored 1st half 4.021
Runs allowed 1st half 4.447
Difference 0.426

Runs Scored 2nd half 2.222
Runs allowed 2nd half 4.556
Difference 2.334

Runs Scored season 3.864
Runs allowed 2nd half 4.456
Difference 0.592

It's getting worse. So what's the plan, Sabes? See enough?

Mac Williamson hit 2 HR's tonight in San Jose. 19 HR's on the year.

Think I may go down there to watch some games

We are SOOOOO set up to be a power-house team in '15 or '16, and still should be a contender next year.

This medicine we are taking this year is wretched, but it will certainly do a body good as we get additional ammunition for the farm.

I actually think Sabes has seen enough. Before the series he said in his radio interview that they are now to the point where they are "about ready to sign off 2013" and now 2 losses to the Cubs later, well I'm guessing it is now written off.

Ken Rosenthal also reported today that Sabean is now answering calls for Pence and talking to teams

Tanaka experiment? Over

Frenchy as Savior? Over

Towers? Thanks for 2010, but see ya.

GQ? Adios, amigo.

Kontos? Adieu.

Zito? About time to surf full time.

If we are going to get our arses handed to us day in and day out, might as well play some prospects. But they have to lock Noggin in a cupboard and fill out the lineup card with the kids if they have any chance of playing.

And what about Pill?

I am still very excited about Mac, Crick, Blackburn, Agosta, Stratton. We have some really good prospects just far away.

Pence may be the top bat on the market. Rios comes with a heavy price tag and White Sox don't want to eat his salary. So possible Pence is top bat

How would people feel about this team (assume we trade Lincecum, Pence, Lopez)

C: Posey
1B: Belt
2B: Scutaro
SS: Crawford
3B: Sandoval
LF: Brown
CF: Torres (unless we want Peg in LF and Brown in CF)
RF: Roger K

But he also said the Giants need to snap out of the team-wide malaise.

“We’re last in the league in errors and that’s not us,’’ Bochy said. “That’s who we’ve become, but that’s not who we are. We’re going to spend more time on the basics.”

Bochy said the team’s stellar defense in previous years was often overshadowed by the pitching – but no less important. During the run to the 2012 World Series title, the Giants made a highlight-reel defensive plays almost every night.

These days, Bochy would settle for taking care of all the routine plays.

“The thing for us is getting back to playing sound fundamentally baseball,’’ he said.

From Daniel Brown today.

Well, you are the manger. Do it!

Bochy never really gave him a fair shot all the times he was called up

Every time he started against a LHP , Bochy would PH Belt for him in the 6th or 7th every time a RHP entered the game , Bochy never gave him a fair shake , and if he does get called up expect the same , splinters like Ish and Bowker and Nate.

Bochy would rather go with light hitting journeymen like Torres , Cole Gillaspie , Abreu and guys like that , the Giants need more guys with some pop !

I did a little quick research and I'm not putting everything on these 2 guys but ..,

Since the All star Break in the leadoff spot

Blanco 2 - 24 ( .083 )

Torres 2 - 11 ( . 182 )

Blanco & Torres 4 - 35 ( .114 )

Our offense sputtered last year as well until Pagan was put in the leadoff spot , looks like we miss him more than we realize

I have sense the same thing, but haven't tracked it. I proposed a week or so ago to have Scoots lead off, followed by Crawford or Belt, then Posey, Panda, Pence, etc. Scoots can take pitches. I like Blanco, but he and Towers couldn't take pitches is they were tied down. The good leadoff hitters are good OBP guys, and Scoots is the best we have outside of Posey.

But then again what the hell, why not have Posey lead off with his .387 OBP? :D

Make the batting order based on OBP, just to shake things up. ANd this team needs to be shaken up, badly.
