Neither surprises me. I have always said Cano is no Gold Glove 2B. He has little lateral movement, but makes flashy plays that fans love that trick them into believing he is better than he really is.

I remember earlier this season, a couple of people got on you for daring to favorably compare the value of Altuve to the value of Cano.

Turns out you were right.

Again, wasn't saying player vs player he was better but value vs value. I know you knew this, but for others wanted to clarify. I like that little guy and adding more payroll flexibility is a great thing...and I know he wasn't an option was just comparing situations I would rather have.

Thanks for the mention.

Oh yeah, I never thought you were saying to make a move for Altuve. lol.

I was just talking about how some people were saying Altuve could never be as big a contributor as Cano.

Yeah, our rookie Jones needs to put in some serious work to address that.

That also makes Adam Jones look even worse defensively than I thought he was.

I think i'll start following the guys who tweet those stats.

M's lineup for game 2 of 4 against the O's.

1. Endy Chavez (L) RF
2. James Jones (L) CF
3. Robinson Cano (L) 2B
4. Kendrys Morales (S) DH
5. Kyle Seager (L) 3B
6. Dustin Ackley (L) LF
7. Logan Morrison (L) 1B
8. Mike Zunino (R) C
9. Brad Miller (L) SS

11 of the past 17 games, the M's have scored 2 runs or fewer. Let's start a new trend.

When considering all of the lineups we have put out there, this one has me the most excited thus far. The obvious addition of Morales should help, but the fact that Ackley finally get's to hit behind one of our better hitters should be positive. 3-6 looks solid while the always possible pop at 7-8 could mean great returns. Like you said Cezero, let's start a new trend here! :hope:

17s McClendon he's considering the idea of moving Seager to the No. 2 spot in the lineup

If he could figure out how to get hits into the massive gap by 3B that teams always leave with the shift for him, that could be good.

Jones has a better BABIP, but that can fluctuate faster than any other stat.

I'd imagine now that Morales is there, we'll see some experimentation with the lineup as we figure out how they'll get pitched.

The BABIP is an odd stat to me. It basically disregards all k's which for a low contact team like ours is a big stat to forgive. I mean it isn't just as if we can say, 'Just make contact'. That would be like telling the pitchers to just miss more bats. If they could, they would.

It's one that I look at for hitters batting 2nd since contact is key. Combined with a decent average, it usually indicates success in that particular spot. It's shifty for sure, though.
