Meh. Does it really matter at this point?

Nope.

At some point you have sucked enough to realize you just suck. i think we've gotten to that point.
oh well.

and re: cal's question about dealing Romo: I say no chance. i dont thnk we deal any players that can help us next year: Scutaro, Affeldt, Romo.

we might deal a couple guys who arent under contract like Pence and Lopez
I think we ride it out with Timmy, we owe him that even if we dont re-sign him. and we wouldnt get that much back anyway.

The Dogs were down 8-3 in the 7th against the Bluebirds.

They now lead 10-8 in the 9th

We could only wish for that much firepower in a week, much less two innings.

We have to turn our sights on the dogs now. If we can't win, they certainly can't win.

Lets make it official and become snake fans for the rest of the season...

On the homestand:

The Giants are 4-32 with RISP

And have left 37 men on base in 5 games

Been outscored 26-10

Reds have six homers in two games, Giants have 1 homer in 5 home games

Bring on BZ and the BP for the LP

They had a 14-year-old who lost his vision after being hit by a line drive in a little league game throw out the first pitch. He threw right off the mound and to the plate. Love It!

From Pavlovic:

Blanco CF
Abreu 2B
Posey C
Sandoval 3B
Pence RF
Belt 1B
Francoeur LF
Crawford SS
Zito LHP

Choo CF
Izturis SS
Votto 1B
Phillips 2B
Bruce RF
Frazier LF
Hannahan 3B
Miller C
Reynolds RHP

— Francoeur starting against a left-hander and right-hander is a pretty clear sign that the left field platoon no longer exists. I’d expect to see Tanaka sent down when Arias is ready.

— We just talked to Eric Surkamp, who was roughed up in his first start since 2011. It was pretty clear that Surkamp wasn’t quite ready for a return to the big leagues just 12 months after Tommy John surgery. He said he feels close, but not all the way back. So which of the genius coaches "thought" he'd be ready?!?

“Your arm doesn’t have that whip back that you’re used to,” he said. “I’m herky-jerky and not as fluid.”

Still, it was a good experience for the left-hander.

“It was awesome to be back out there,” he said. “Surprisingly, I wasn’t really nervous. The last year has been a long year for me. Tonight, just being up here, I was really excited. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out better. If I get a chance to throw up here again, hopefully it goes better.” (Uh, no, it wasn't "awesome." You stunk it up HUGE! Enjoy the bus ride back to Fresno.)

Stokes, it isn't like the Giants had 4 All-star worthy pitchers that they decided to pass on n favor of Kamp. They had Kamp, and MAYBE Petit. They went withe guy who was actually putting up good numbers this year instead of the journeyman AAAA pitcher.

I guess. But Kamp had gotten lit up his last two starts at Fresno. Probably the Magic 8-ball ran out of batteries.

Giants have not hit a grand slam all season.

And still haven't. BB9 grounds the outside pitch to 2b. Is this stubbornness or coaching or talent? Outside pitches go the other way, right?

Frenchy with the SPOM with guys on 2nd and 3rd. A groundout, of course. :L

I fully believe it is a philosophy that comes down from Bochy. Remember a couple weeks ago, in the middle of the REALLY bad play, Boch said the hitter just weren't being aggressive enough at the plate. This after a game where the opposing pitcher had about 80 pitches after 7 IP.

IBWT.

Yeah, I remember almost dropping my teeth in the toilet when I heard that. How about being smart at the plate, waiting for your pitch, etc. These guys are dumpster diving for pitches. And it is not working.
