According to Boch, Tyler Colvin was next in line to pitch. Which means we would have seen Lincecum in LF.

Not gonna lie, I'm glad we won and all, but I would have loved to see that.

Yep, if you don't enjoy a game like this once in a while, I don't see how you enjoy the sport. This is where all the nuance and strategy and craziness of the game shines.

Outstanding game. Very 2010-like.

Timmeh gets a save in his second career regular-season relief appearance. Hactor catches 14 innings. Posey and Pence both go yard. Kontos whips his sack out and all the Philth run away crying.

Damn fine performance by the boys!

Normally this game would be looking grim but 5-3 seems too low for the final score.

Could be 8-3 of course but I'm hoping for 8-6 Giants.

Pretty close! You're welcome bitches!

Awesome!

I don't know why Bochy doesn't PH Bum more. He'd be a lot better than Arias, and the rest of the .200 no pop hitters on the bench. There is the chance of injury, I guess. Would have loved to see Bum PH in that bandbox of a stadium, though.

Giants Keep the Faith...WIN 9-6 in 14 innings

This was one of those games that you remember at the end of the year and put a circle around it for TEAM play and guts. The Giants put up 9 runs but the story was really the bullpen again who went 9 innings giving up only 1 ER but the pen was empty at the end and needed Lincecum to come in and shut the door getting the save.

A tremendous effort by the Band of Brothers as the mighty Giants especially Posey who had 4 hits and Crawford who had 4 RBI's. Posey kept the Giants alive in the 9th with a solo HR to tie it up and Crawford had the big double in the 14th inning to clear the bases. Pence had 3 hits and Adrianza had 2 hits. Panda and Sanchez each had 2 hits and Blanco was on base 3 times including 2 walks.

Almost the whole roster it seemed played in this one as the Giants get a big win in Philly in a game that lasted a whopping 5 hours and 46 minutes in 88 degree heat. The Giants never panicked and they never gave in to the home team. Giants back in first place as Dodgers lose.

Giants keep the faith and this one will be remembered.

Go Giants !!

Agreed, I think we chatted about it after his latest slam. Gotta be better than Arias.

Could tonight have been one of the greatest FYWW exhibitions we've EVER seen? 9 innings, 1 ER, in a bandbox, with guys going way longer than expected, and even a new pen member to get the save...

That is a playoff quality pen.

These boys are so good, and you know that Sabes will still look to make a move to improve it.

I was looking up the longest games for the Giants in their history and came across THIS gem.

A 23 inning, 7 hour 23 minute affair, in the nightcap of a DOUBLE HEADER. I know there is a fan out there who went to both games, and watched the entire 32 innings. They certainly got their money's worth. At least the first game was a cool 2 hrs 29 minute CG from Marichal. Gaylord Perry pitched 10 shutout innings... IN RELIEF. Giants won both games. A total of 9 hours and 52 minutes of baseball. Mays, Cepeda, Hart and Jesus Alou played every inning.
