Span CF
Nuñez 3B
Belt 1B
Posey C
Crawford SS
Pence RF
Panik 2B
Hernandez LF
Samardzija, P

This inept lineup scored all of two whole runs yesterday. They should be exhausted with all that flailing and trudging back to the dugout today.

6-1 Padres, Scrabble walks no one, strikes out 8, and gives up three bombs

100 losses by September! We can do it!

Going 26-39 to avoid 100 losses will be asking for too much, especially considering the way that this lifeless group got owned again by SD yesterday.

Is Mark Rzepczynski a SP for the Giants now?

They best trade Span before he gets hurt again. Same with Nunez. That hammy could be hanging on with chewed bubblegum...

That was a good 1st inning. I would say the Giants now have at least a 54% chance of winning this game.

So there's a million reasons why the Giants suck this year. But to me the most shocking is the starting pitching. At seasons start we were debating if the Giants had the best rotation, maybe with the Mets. Turns out they have the worst one, not just figuratively, the worst statistically. Bumgarner going down couldn't be predicted. But the 'co ace' got blisters, and Moore and Scrabble just plain suck.

Yes, it has been bad all around. Situational hitting, no power, etc. Bullpen can't keep guys from scoring. The blown save by Melancon the first game of the season should have been a huge, "uh-oh".

I agree that the starting pitching has been unfailingly bad, save for Blach, of whom not much was expected. Moore has been Sanchez 2.0, great stuff, but nothing upstairs. Scrabble has been historically good at not walking people, but he has been terrible at giving up bombs and runs (5.05 ERA!) Cain can't go more than 5 innings at best. Is it lack of talent? Have the baseball gods determined payback for the three WS wins? Has Rags lost it? :noidea:

Giants blew a huge chance to put the game way in the 4th, loading the bases with Posey up. A WP got a run in. Then nothing. No hits or runs since, and the Giants have insisted on give the Padres enough runs to get back into the game.

Pitch well? No hit.

Hit well? No pitch.

Our 2017 Giants.

Honestly this might be closer to the truth. Baseball is just weird that way. Luck happens (we had a lot of it in 2010, 2012, 2014) and shit happens (2011, 2017).
