I think we can safely say we were ALL wrong about Morse, including Grant Brisbee and literally EVERYONE with an opinion on the signing. Wow.

McCovey Chrronicles' take was he'd be another Aaron Rowand. Mine was he was just slightly better than not doing anything.

Honestly, while Bisbee is clever with words and sometimes funny, I find him snarky and I rarely agree with his take on just about anything. Sorta like Jon Stewart.

I'm guilty as well, unless your post was aimed at me, in which case I'm merely guilty. I wanted Marlon Byrd much more.

However, in searching for the dark lining to the silver cloud, while Morse has a positive 1.9 oWAR right now, he also has a negative 1.0 dWAR. In some fairness to him, while he can look a bit uncomfortable out in the field, he has yet (unjinx) to make an error in the field, and that includes his time at first.

Note: Byrd has a positive 0.9 oWAR right now, and a negative 0.2 dWAR.

I would not want him on longer than a 1 year deal, but would we be OK with him getting a 1/15?

For the record, I expect that the Giants will NOT offer him a QO. The QO is getting a bit of a stigma to it that makes the FOs look bad in player's eyes, and the Giants have done a lot to build a good rep with players (a lot of that came from NOT offering a QO to Oxy pre-'13).
