Yeah...I would never call my lab "smart" in any way. But what she lacks in smarts she makes up for with personality. She also always knows when it's time to eat. Can your dog tell time?

The wife says they all line up at the door a few minutes before I get home from work. The Shepherd knows her Left from her Right. The Beagles knows how to open doors, which is not a good thing.

I love Beagles, but the constant howling would drive me nuts. I don't think I've ever met one that was well behaved???

The first one I had was Beagles and Redbone. Smartest most well behaved Beagles you will ever see, but he had the howl and poop eating traits. The one we have now is Beagles and Min Pin, he is a little shit.
