Sounds like Affeldt and Pagan are going to DL.

Boch said it was no coincidence that Mac Williamson was promoted to Sacramento today, in wake of injuries. They want to push him, see what he can do.

Osich is a lefty as well, gotta think his promotion is no coincidence either, though I wonder what this means regarding Okert? He was thought to be the replacement for Affeldt.

Max Scherzer is absolutely on fire right now. Perfect through 5 innings so far tonight, after losing a PG in the 9th with 2 outs (but still throwing a no-no) and tossing a one-hitter his start prior to that.

Pagan is not on the DL yet, but is very likely by tomorrow.

Updated lineup...

CF Blanco
2B Panik
3B Duffy
1B Posey
LF Belt
SS Crawford
C Susac
RF Maxwell
RHP Hudson (5-6, 4.52)

Blanco is white-hot right now, but historically he does not do well in the leadoff spot.

Affeldt has officially been placed on the DL, Mike Broadway has been recalled.

Hudson is going on the DL after this start (that is a weird thing to say), and it's believed that the Giants will recall Cain to replace him. Alternatively, they might recall and OFer (probably Parker) for the weekend and see how Pagan recovers (doubtful), then send the recalled outfielder back down once Cain's start day (next Tuesday) comes around. That is probably the most likely course of action.

Would obviously prefer to not have all these injuries, but we do have a shit-ton of MLB-ready players just itching for their shot. Sure most of them will either not be ready or will fail completely, but one or two will break through. We just need to find out which one or two.

Not sure who you are talking about. The Giants NEVER promote MLB ready talent.

I like Okert. He's been giving up runs every game lately (7.94 ERA in last 10 appearances), and his control has left him a little (15 walks in 32 innings). He gave up three (3) earned runs in two recent games, which has skewed his ERA to 4.50.

LHH are hitting .188 against him, but RHH are hitting .297.

His ERA with RISP is 15.26, which means he needs to start a clean inning, I guess.

He's had a pretty rapid rise. In 2013 he was in Augusta, and last year split the season between San Jose and Richmond. He dominated the Cal League, and was pretty good in the Eastern League. He has had some issues with the PCL. Still, two years removed from low-A is pretty good.

Uh oh. Peavy has allowed five first-inning runs — and inning isn’t over — in what is supposed to be his final rehab start, at Vegas.

And Huddy strikes out the pitcher with sax full.

I am not sure what to make of Peavy's struggles at AAA in rehab. Doesn't look like he is quite ready. Or maybe he just needs an MLB game to get the juices flowing.

So, does anyone know what is going on in the game? I am so lost without a pitch-by-pitch update of the score and how many outs and who is really sacking up for the game.
