Totally off topic but Elly De La Cruz of the Reds hit for the cycle in his 15th game in the majors. Current slash line .361/.418/.656, with 7 stolen bases already. Dude has future MVP written all over him. Also plays SS and has a cannon arm.

Reds are 13-2 in those 15 games.

So my dad and I have a theory/system where whenever a team on a 5 game or longer streak breaks the streak, the next game they repeat the break.

So if you win 5+ in a row then lose, you will lose the next game. If you lose a bunch in a row and then win, you will win that next game.

Never tested it rigorously but it seems to work well over 50% of the time. Of course if I start betting it, it will fail.

By this metric the Giants are due to lose tonight but Webb is on the mound vs a not great starter so
