Oh, I know! I'm pleasantly surprised with BOTH Panik and Duffy's respective power! And it never looks as if either is trying to hit HRs. I love our lineup, especially when healthy!
Agree agree agree.

While I am slightly surprised by Duffy's power, I am absolutely SHOCKED by Paniks output. He never showed any power in college or the minors, and I was worried about his OBP potential because of it (if he is never going to make the pitchers pay for staying in the zone, he won't get any walks). I am not worried about that anymore.

The only spot in the lineup that I worry about is CF due to Pagan's injury history. He's wearing down bad...the Dodgers telecast had Pagan's monthly splits April/May/June and his numbers get exponentially worse each month. I like Maxwell but I don't think Pence or Aoki play CF defensively, which means Blanco gets ABs.

When Pence gets back, I hope they give Pagan a DL stint. His back HAS to be bothering him. That explains his absolute lack of power.

I'm hoping for a DL stint for Pagan as well but they were saying that he may be out past the All Star Break, which I don't think Pagan can wait for. Can Aoki play CF? Or is he primarily a LF historically?

He played RF for KC last year. I would have to look it up, though. He is fast enough, I would think he could handle it. I think he just does not have great defensive instincts, which is why he is relegated to a corner spot.

Just a WAG, though.

Apparently Duffy is getting talk of taking over the 3-hole by the coaches. I would be OK with him or Craw.

That's what I would do at the moment. Oxy's average and power have absolutely plummeted. For a guy coming off a back injury, Noggin sure is playing him a ton of games. He's played 65 of 70 games. I was sort of hoping he'd get one day off a week. It has been hard with Guppy and Herk going down with injuries, and now with Seaweed potentially injured.

Another instance where PQS misses the mark...

THud with a PQS of 2. That equates to the lower edge of moderate (a 1 is a disaster).
Baiting me eh? Ok, I'll bite. It was a middling start -- Hud wasn't dominant nor was he awful. He needed really good D and a bonehead play by Piggy to escape relatively unscathed. He didn't save the bully, but he made some tough pitches when he had to. PQS isn't a perfect stat but it hardly "missed the mark" here. 2 is a middling score; he gave us a middling start.

They need to do something about the right field wall. IMO, they should bring in the "Levi's Landing" section to make it even with the section in right-center (between the Merrill Lynch sign and the State Farm sign).

More seats, more home runs, more scoring, better able to attract a LHH power hitter. A nice incremental move that won't ruin the character of the park.

My two kroons.
