Not really dude. The best guy for the job SHOULD start, forget about level of pay. Its should be all about level of play. And we will likely platoon the slot corner in any case.

The point in bring these guys in was to improve what we had on roster. Now if a guy already on roster beats them out, that is actually better for the team. It means we have the best guy starting, and solid depth as well. Win win for the Skins.

you would be paying chase about 450,000 a year as a starting nickel guy , fantastic management

or should we take the seahawks example 10 mil for flynn , 350,000 for wilson if you paid wilson that money and flyn the other amount would anybody cry bad management ?

You also dont count on in house unproven players at key positions because when it fails you become... worse.

Right. They cant count on in house players hence they filled there respective positions in FA. Meaning they overpay for them. The Lenovo signing means that they have no confidence in Ribeye. The Porter signing means they want a veteran CB on the field for there nickel. Why would they bench the guys they paid for??

you want big name signings just like cerrato did and you get mad when we are outbid

the raiders have lots of cap space and a full compliment of draft picks you dont think penn could be sold on that ?

plus his contract is for 2 years 9.6 mil 4.2 mil guaranteed, his 1st year is 4.6 mil so you think we should have paid more then that for a RT at that age ? that is "managing" our money ?

he is 31 yrs old and will be playing LT with the raiders

I don't want big name signings. I want smart signings. Penn got sold on the money not the organization. That is it. When you consider on what we gave Levuno at 4 mil per season its not that far off for a proven RT a 5 mil per season. Yes the contract is high and I wouldn't of did it but its a proven player. If we had the extra cap space maybe but we don't so we have to be smart with our money. If Lenuno gets beat out this year there is going to a lot of criticism.

3 mil for a CB is not big money.
4 mil for a G is not big money.


Neither contract really hurts us even if we void it next season if either Lauvao or Porter get beat out. Personally, I would love to see both get beat out because it means our young players grew. If Lauvao gets beat out at LG, he can always play his natural position of RG and Chester can be gone.
