I did not see the penguins going down 0-3 in this series. Honestly, I apologize for underestimating the Flyers come playoff time.

Considering it's your first post here, and thus your first thought of which we are aware...

you are forgiven.

I definitely did not underestimate the Flyers, but nobody could have expected the Pens defense to shit the bed this badly.

Especially the penalty kill. It was rock solid all season.

There are so many things I didn't expect that have happened. I saw the signs of some trouble, but I still expected someone to step up (aka MAF). I expected 7 games, so 4 is a disappointment in so many ways.

I agree with this and Dacks. No one underestimated the Flyers.

They were built to beat the Penguins and have done a great job all season, they deserve all the credit for exposing this Penguin team.

For what it's worth, Dejan reported that Mario Lemieux looked like a "disappointed father" outside of the Penguins' locker room yesterday.

Beating the pens is a nice side effect, but this team wasn't 'built to beat the pens'. It was built from lack of heart. Please don't justify your struggles by saying the flyers were 'built to beat the pens'. The bruins had way more to do with it than the pens did, if you wanna point to a specific team.

I saw that. I hope that is what he looked like. Mario is a classy dude, he was probably more disappointed than anyone.

They've let him down in a lot of ways this series. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave them (and Dan Bylsma) a good chewing-out. For him, any reflection those players have on the organization is a direct reflection on him, so it's probably a little personal.

In one of these threads I predicted the Flyers would take it in 5, but I thought there would be at least 3 overtimes and no wins by more then 2 goals. So this is a pleasant surprise, but at the same time I really felt this team was capable of competing this year even with all the injuries.
