Time for your Pill, Mr. Kershaw.
Up to Vogelsong now. The offense did all it can do.
Didn't you just fucking KNOW Vogey wouldn't have a shutdown inning....fuck this game is hard to stomach.
Giants tonight with RISP, 0 for 1
1 lousy runner in scoring position?!?
Sounds like the program they have at DeAnza (I work in Cupertino) it's a great idea.
Players today are as superstitious as they were in the days of Babe Ruth. Pitchers still drill opposing hitters in retaliation if a batter from their team is hit. Rookies continue to be hazed.
Then there's the sacrifice bunt.
There is statistical research indicating the tactic is counterproductive, but teams continue to use it. Teams such as the Dodgers.
LA Time's writer getting on Mattingly for his sac bunts last night:
The one situation where "statistical research" indicates a sac bunt is warranted is when you are playing for one run and a player is at 2B with zero outs. If you are going to criticize Mattingly's decision making last night, you should focus on the specifics of each situation, since the statistical evidence angle is not helping your case.
Further, it only makes sense if you've got a player who hits below .250 (IIRC there was a FanGraphs article to that effect). So, basically, the 8 hole hitter or the pitcher.
Or, most of the 2011 Giants.
Or all of the 2012 Giants with RISP...
Outstanding. Rep.
Kubrick is awesome. That movie had such phenomenal casting. Every character was perfect.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was directed by Milos Forman
Oopsy
But agreed, Kubrick is awesome.

D'Oh !!! You are correct. I misread a Bing extract. Kubrick did "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson (and also Scatman Crothers).
So, yes, my original post still stands as separate but retardedly unrelated sentences.
