I don't have a clue but is Pill even remotely an option at 3B? He seems to move smooth enough around 1B.

I think remotely is the most appropriate modifier to use. If the Giants D had been tight up to now and everywhere else, I think Bochy might have taken a chance on Pill at 3B (but only over Gillaspie, obviously). But I don't think there is any way Bochy can take a chance on putting another clown in the infield right now.

LOVE this GIF...

2 things "jump" out at me...

1) How did I not notice Whiteys bunny impression at th time in that one. Simply hilarious.

2) Am I the only one that still gets a little spark of anger seeing that dude wear 22 on the back if his jersey?

Wearing 22! Sacrilege!

Why not give someone 24 while they are at it?

Is Arias an option at 3rd? I like how he is playing. Does he have a strong arm?

We scuffling now to be sure. Injuries have taken a toll. And Noggin cannot seem to figure out how the pieces go together.

RISP is an anchor on this team right now.

Bullseye on #2. There is so much Whiteside's fault packed in one short clip.

Yes, Arias is an option at 3B. He was a SS, so he's got the arm to play third. We could put Burriss at 3B and Arias at 2B (Theriot is a statue), or vice-versa. Though, that lineup limits Bochy's ability to do late inning maneuvers, which is why it's critical to get Gillaspie out of here. Gillaspie's got a bit of a Fred Lewis problem, i.e. not good enough to start and not versatile enough defensively to be a back-up.

Can't emphasis enough how teams are going to abuse Gillsapie's arm going forward. He's going to have to play way up to compensate, which is going to open up the left side.

Tonight wasn't their best work but they look like a team to be reckoned with and we....don't. They have played well all year.

I ain't saying they will have the best record in baseball, but if this team we see here wins the division by 5 games I won't be the least surprised. If we win by that margin, I will be.

They are a three player team. If anything happens to Kemp, Ethier, or Kershaw they're fucked. Odds are at least one of those guys is going to miss some time.

oh, and, yeah......when Burriss becomes your solution to poor infield defense, you know you got some major problems.

Weren't you supposed to post the GDT today? I'm putting this all on you.

Yeah. I came on the board to create the GDT, but SOMEBODY had already created one, more than THREE HOURS before the start of the game.

Just like renaming a ship, creating a second GDT is obviously bad mojo, so ...

;)

I've said this early.......bochy needs to take some heat for not getting this team ready to play out of ST. The miscommunication errors, especially, are all the result of Bochy not playing a set lineup enough.

Uhhhh... how is that different from every other year (including 2010)? (Hint: it isn't)

We like to get our GDT threads up soon after the lineups are announced. It's still on you.

Aren't you the guy who was "AMAZED" in spring training that anyone here thought Hector Sanchez might end up being the backup catcher?

More signs that Bochy reads the board (per the Mercury News) ;):

He said he's leaning toward throwing his best defense out there Tuesday, even if it means starting left-handed hitters against N.L. Cy Young Award-winning southpaw Clayton Kershaw.

"That's what we have to decide: What is our best defense?" Bochy said. "And you still have to score runs, too."

I think I'd give Posey the day off too. He's played a lot of back to back games, and his bat looks slow right now. Might as well rest him, and hope to win game three with a "refreshed" Buster.

Posey's last 10 games: .229/.270/.371

I'd be satisfied with avoiding a Kershaw no-hitter at this point.

Good point. We should play our speediest guys (Burriss, Pagan, Blanco, etc) and have them bunt for hits every AB
