I think that the Giants should start heading out to the field in a miniature clown car. They've sure been playing defense like a box of clowns tonight.

I remember you mentioning this clown car earlier in the season. It is a fitting analogy.

Weren't you supposed to post the GDT today? I'm putting this all on you.

Yeah, nothing to worry about this year with these Dodgers.

Were you really that impressed by them? They had a bunch of meek hits, Giants had quite a few "at 'em" balls or well defended balls. If the Giants play good defense and actually had professional at bats (just moving the runner over) this is an entirely different ball game. I tip my hat, they'll win fair and square, just not all that impressed at all. More disappointed with the Giants "effort". Honestly too, not even sour grapes.

I'm thinking I want a lineup like this for the foreseeable future regardless of the pitcher:

Blanco - CF
Pagan - LF
Cabrera - RF
Posey - C
Belt - 1B
Arias - 2B
Gaspaspie - 3B
Crawford - SS

I'll take Burriss at 3B tomorrow. Gillaspie can can go back to Fresno (forever), and bring up Noonan or Cubby.

Tonight wasn't their best work but they look like a team to be reckoned with and we....don't. They have played well all year.

I ain't saying they will have the best record in baseball, but if this team we see here wins the division by 5 games I won't be the least surprised. If we win by that margin, I will be.

Posey needs to check his glove....balls keep popping out of it.

Good point. Maybe Burriss or Arias at 3B and the other at 2B. At least some speed with Manny.

Did the Dodgers look good last night when they blew a 9th inning lead?

Sorry msg, I don't see it.

Many unproven players and not much depth behind the 3 stars.

Giants have played like poop and are .500 doing so. When this team clicks (and finally mends the holes in their gloves) I have them and AZ as the best teams in the west.

What happened to our much vaunted Bullpen - these guys are very average and certainly not lights out

Amazing what it does when you lose the anchor. It takes a while for the pen to get re-set. Seems silly, all emotional 'chemistry' stuff but it can be very real. These are people not just stats.

Even Mota is a loss, he had uses.

Yep. Not sure which is optimal between those two at those positions. I'll leave that much up to the coaches.

I'm calling it, could be wrong. If we're at the ASB and this is still the situation will you concede it then? The 'surprise' team always looks like they do on paper, no one 'sees it', that's why it's a surprise. Suddenly a bunch of unproven guys step up. A vet or two have career years. And voila, 2011 Dbacks, 2010 Giants....2012 Dodgers IMO.

Our 6th/7th inning guy use to have closer type stuff. Now he is the only guy with closer like stuff.
As much grey hairs the Beard caused, he drew all the attention and pressure towards him.

I'm with ya msg. I think for the most part we're on the same page. I'm just not impressed with the Dodgers at all. They may win the division (still a LONG way to go), but if they do, it's because they did "enough" while the Giants and DBags underachieved. This Giants defense is just awful. I really can't say the Giants were beat by a better team tonight. They beat themselves. The Dodgers didn't beat themselves, which you've got to give them that.

I hate the Dodgers, but I really am trying to be objective here. I was not impressed. I was just WAY less impressed by our boys.

Ok, call it. I'm not convinced. The ASB is a long ways away. If they maintain this through July then I'll give em more credibility.

Tonight's bullpen performance has little to do with Wilson. Bochy always puts out his worst pitchers when the g-men are behind and late. We could blame the Pagan trade perhaps, but even with the FYWW bullpen, the 11th and 12th pitchers let games get away from them - especially when the D fucked up the way they did.

Well, goodnight gentlemen. It was an ugly game. Hopefully the boys can put up a better fight tomorrow, but it doesn't get any easier with Clayton on the hill.

Get 'em tomorrow!
