He does have 10 walks (compared to 5 hits).
And to be clear: I'm not advocating for his DFA. I'd like Bart to get a semi-full AAA season this year and Casali is by all reports a fantastic receiver and clubhouse guy. I'm just wondering how low his average can go and still be in the lineup every third game?

I would guess that the average catcher understands the strike zone better than the average position player. And he would typically have a better relationship with the umpires.

Still, as bad as that is, Casali is .094 and .238 with 10 walks.

Its just weird.

Yep. Don't see why pitchers keep walking Grandal, he can't hit pitches in the zone clearly. Or maybe he just doesnt bother.
