There goes Cain's win. He probably wouldn't have wanted this one anyway.

Isn't Cain still in line for the W (should they hold the lead?)

(unless gp is HFing us?)

Hating headline writers. With regard to O'Dog, I've seen:

"Hudson DFA'd"
"Hudson released"
"Padres request waivers on Hudson"

All in the last two hours.

It's all setting up for KCYa in the ninth.

Are you sure? I thought he's still on the line for a W unless the Cards tie it.

Is that how it works? I thought once they tie the score at the point Cain left then he is no longer in line for the win.

I know you guys have probably already covered this but...why are the Pads dumping him? His numbers suck, but I still don't get it. They must have a young guy they think is ready to play.

No, if you leave with a lead it's yours to win as long as they never catch up. Which seems fair to me.

LOL. It's been so long since the Giants have tacked on runs on the backside of a starters exit, I must have forgotten.

Yes, you're right.

Is that how it works? I thought once they tie the score at the point Cain left then he is no longer in line for the win.

Nope. A pitcher can lead with a 1-0 lead after 5 innings and the game can end 9-8 and that pitcher can still get the win as long as the team maintained the lead for the duration of the game.

Craw up to .225.

Baby steps.

Pagan has been an OBP freak recently as well. His plate appearances have been much much better. Ironically, he seems to have more patience in the 5 hole than he did at leadoff.

Sounds like the Padres are just sick of watching these vets stink it up. We can relate (RoRo, Dave Roberts.....).

There are a lot of other positives I see in this game, but for fear of the jinx, I ain't mentioning any of them.

You're welcome. ;)

Also, why should the starter lose his W if another guy gives up runs?

He was below average last year and is absolutely horrible this year.

God I hope the Giants get him (and I'm not kidding)
