If he can just learn to square his shoulders a split second sooner when scrambling left, and holding the ball that partial second more in most other situations. Late in the game Golson stood in there and waiting for the receiver to break open. He threw some passes behind the receivers and rushed some throws but he made the big play when it was on the line. Stanford is a real good team.

Why am I not shocked that isdeer is negative about this win?

Who cares how it looked, who cares what the score was, we beat a damn good Stanford team.

And oh by the way, our defense is also damn good.

I agree, typically I like him today, just not today. I know I was all nerved up watching the game but he blew the call all day long in my opinion. But yes I do think he is a good announcer overall. I guess we're all allowed a bad day every once in awhile.

The thing about Mayock is, he is very knowledgeable, brings a good insight into the game, and has a pretty good eye for talent. I fervently believe, however, his two biggest flaws are he feels the need to fill every amount of space with color commentary, and there are times where you gotta pull back and let the story tell itself sometimes. And two, he wants to overcompensate for not being a homer. I don't think he dislikes ND, but his default always seems to be against ND on calls. It's so bad he even jokes how bad his own record is on calling reviews. And it goes back a couple of years. I remember his running commentary during the 2012 goal line stand review. He was trying to justify a reversal. And today he kept saying the pass to Robinson "hopped". No mention of Robinsons hands being under it. Hicks at least tried to say it was between his hands but Mayock wouldn't even allow that his hands got under it.

Well, we all knew this was our first true test of the season. Glad we passed it, so to speak. That is all.

Yes a great 1st test win. We were playing against the #1 D and really bad weather. Thats why the game was ugly. Next week is a trap game so lets take care of business and see what happens against FSU. I feel FSU is beatable. Their D is bad. We need to contain Winston and we should be ok. Also lets hope we get some of those players back. Especially Daniels and Russell. I don't know what Kelly does if Russell comes back because Luke and Riggs have been awesome.
