"The 49ers moved their record to 7-1 with a 19-11 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday. 49ers Public Relations presents the following notes from the Week 9 matchup.

» Head Coach Jim Harbaugh became the 3rd rookie head coach in 49ers history to start 7-1.
» Harbaugh also became the first 49ers rookie head coach to begin the season 7-1 with a team who held a losing record the previous season.
» Harbaugh joined Jim Mora (2004 with Falcons) as the only rookie head coaches to lead their team to a five-game improvement from the previous season through eight games since 1970.

In 1996, the 49ers defense did not allow a rushing touchdown in its first eight games. The following year in 1997, the 49ers defense did not allow a rushing touchdown in its first 10 games.
