Assuming the same play was ran. One thing Alex has shown to do well is put the offense in the best play for the situation. I think the running game would have done a little better with Alex, and he gets rid of the ball faster on some of those blitzes. That's not to say he would not have taken some though as he is not nearly as good at escaping them as Kaep.
Don't use drops and penalties to try and prove how Kaep should have gad a great game. We've all seen plenty of games where Alex would have had better numbers as well if not for the same drops and calls. Those are just a part of the game.
Kaep had a good game considering the crowd and the pressure the Saints got on him, but it was far from what he did Monday Night.
When was the last time Smith played a game without getting sacked?
And after Kaep's game last week someone said his stats were something Smith has routinely done under Harbaugh. I proved that remarkably false and the poster (can't remember which of the three Kaepernick haters. . . . it was) never addressed it.
