49ers Blow Wad on Torrey Smith

One source told the Baltimore Sun that free agent Torrey Smith signing with the 49ers is a "done deal."
It can't hurt that Torrey has stayed tight with Anquan Boldin since playing across from him in Baltimore. The Sun floats $8 million to $9 million annually as Smith's likely price range. The Ravens are less than $5 million under the cap and couldn't match such an offer. The Sun also confirms Andre Johnson "would be regarded as a potential fit" to replace Torrey opposite Steve Smith Sr.Related: 49ers

SF might actually be one of the few places Smith would work.

We will see. Supposedly a healthy Crabtree and adding Stevie Johnson was going to greatly improve the passing game last year and it clearly didnt. Its all about the QB and if he is going to get better.

He seems to catch so little of what is thrown his way. Last year he improved granted but in years prior I don't think he was even hauling in 50% of the targets. Flacco is not a terrible QB (completes 60% or so overall) so I dunno. But I don't want the Ravens much so I dunno, can't really tell.

$8-9M for a 800-1,000 yard receiver seems to be kind of the norm these days, right?
