well then you're referring to the wrong playoff series.. last season was when he was so dominant in the playoffs.. thats the series people are referring to when they say jvr has unbelievable potential.. cause in that serious, he was effin unbelievable

I noticed how dominant he has been this season, basing arguments on what might be doesnt fair to well in real life.

If the Flyers traded JvR I just don't want to see what could have happened when the Flyers were gonna trade Carter for Kaberle.

JVR was fucking unstoppable in 1st 2 games of the Boston series last year.
You can't teach speed and power, and when the JvR takes the puck to the net going around the D man he could easily score a goal, cause a penalty, but he peels off too much and takes a shot right into the crest of the goalie.

JvR needs to take the puck to the fucking net more often, and he will fine.
I say keep him for now.

You know, the JVR-Schenn rumors died a while ago. Everything is speculation for now.

For all we know, JVR is untouchable.

JVR had 7 goals in 11 games last playoffs. 0 assists.

I am not saying he is bad, but those stats are a product of Giroux.

he did have a shot to be scott hartnell on that line.. and when scott hartnell does your job better than you, you gotta question yourself

Fine we'll throw him in too. That is almost enough to get us Ruutu.

bahahaha

Alright, so no player potential can be proven immediately, which means nobody can see into the future and only facts from less than two and a half seasons of regular play and one of two playoff years count. You win.

:heh:

We might as well dump Voracek too while we're at it. He's 22 as well, was drafted just five spots behind JvR in the very same draft and is on pace for fewer points than JvR would've been on pace for minus his concussion.

i think they died because burke is looking for a 1st with JvR, which is just ludicrous

he's trying to get bobby ryan now i think.. but i dont think the ducks will move him, so i bet he comes back to jvr and brings down his asking price because he wants to make a move

As we get closer to the TD I have a couple of thoughts who I want to get. Luke Schenn and Gill or Allen and Gill.

That would be awesome, and but us in a great position. The Leafs struggling for life wanting this player that they "covet"

This is what everyone needs to remember, Burke covets JVR. This means that he needs to be willing to pay in order to acquire him. I think it was AWAZ that pointed out Schenn was projected to be a top pair physical d-man(I can't find anything online that isn't from the Leafs organization on this subject), so it seems fair that Schenn straight up for JVR would be fair(possibly Tor including a pick since they will be a bubble team and need offense to even get into the playoffs). Homer needs to think back to all the times Burke has called about JVR and be patient now in order to make sure if he does move one of his top prospects that he gets fair value out of him and it's a move that helps the team in the future(start to replace Pronger and Timonen).

I know I have been vehemently against moving JVR, but I'm starting to see where it may be time to pull the trigger on a move like this if it looks to help us improve not just this year but also future years.

hockeysfuture has schenn at an 8.5B on this scale:Hockey's Future - #1 NHL Draft & Hockey Prospect Magazine

when the leafs drafted him:
Toronto Maple Leafs Draft Defenceman Luke Schenn

Thanks for the info and that show's he has more potential then I originally thought. I had never read anything grading him that high, but that website is very reputable and usually spot on for talent assessment.

Like I said JVR for Schenn straight up I could see, but I'd prefer to have them both

that's really my point.. i see moving jvr for someone like schenn as the best way to improve this year's team, and the future teams

ha! me too.. so the other route is to move draft picks (other than the 1st) for guys like gil, allen, schultz, grossman.. etc.

either way i'd be good with.. but those are the two routes i wanna see them go, and my lean is towards moving jvr for schenn (or someone like him, but i haven't heard anyone else really)

Or we can have both Schenn and Gill to clog the shooting lanes and crush any player that even thinks they will have any opportunity to get in Bryzy face. I'd rather have both guys going into the playoffs. It's very possible to get both guys w/o breaking a huge chunk of our prospects. Just my gut!

Im glad you brought this up because it really makes it easy to prove my point as the difference between a two way player and JVR. Voracek back checks his ass off every game and is in the corners on the defensive and offensive end. He comes back full speed every time aqnd interupts so many rushes by the other team. He carries the puck in the offensive zone keeps control of the puck in the offensive zone and is a pretty good passer. He checks people when he has to.His defensive skills far out weight JVR AND he wasnt the number 2 pick in what was supposed to be only a top 2 pick draft. JVR doesnt do anything defensively ever, doesnt back check doesnt hit anybody, doesnt get in front to receive a pass or get a tip in, Isnt able to keep control of the puck in the offensive zone doesnt particularly pass that well so if he's not scoring like since when we drafted him besides his spectacular playoff series last year he useless. Voracek better all around player than JVR by far.

Im would be so happy to get Schenn straight up for JVR we need a rough and tumble defenseman and not another "potential" scorer.
