Oh.
Let's get the empty netter.
It was sloppy, but I'll TAKE IT!
Fleury saved them. Nice. Good win for the Penguins.
And in other news, Kevin Correia pitched a complete game, gave up three runs, two earned, for the Pirates in a 9-3 win over Cincinnati. =)
Really, two of those were just pointless...2 run bomb with 2 outs in the bottom of 9? Boo Cinci...![]()
Yeah, at that point he was just tired and throwing strikes, just trying to finish the game, so that home run really doesn't mean anything, but man did he pitch a gem. He was barely over 100 pitches, lots of 1-2-3 innings, and not many walks.
1. Our starting pitchers are our best quality...that's weird. Well, a few of them at least.
2. Another note on the Pens game, just saw the Kunitz hit. What was he thinking? Seriously? I guess Tangradi will get some good minutes coming up. Also, wow was Tampa quiet. Not into it when they were needed. I heard more Pens fans making noise.
1. I think our offense is our number one quality this year, especially once Alvarez and Overbay get themselves going. They're seriously a 5-run/game type of offense. The starting pitching has a ceiling at average. The offense could be above average.
2. I'm thinking Kunitz will be gone for at least 3 games. It looked awfully similar to Cooke's elbow, so it could be upwards of 5 to 10. Hopefully Tangradi can carry his late-season confidence into the playoffs and produce for the Penguins.
Have u guys seen the thread SFNL made on the main board about the pirates above .500? It's only open when the buccos have a winning record. Maybe we'll see it again this season?!?
I suppose you're right, but I really think Morton is on his way to being a fantastic pitcher in the league, and we're getting decent outing from everyone. I just hope they take care of them, unlike the past few years.
Tangradi looked wonderful in the Atlanta game, and was playing fantastic hockey before his injury. I hope he can continue that.
