I totally understand the Slipery-Slope argument. I just don't see it applying here.

The Giants are very good with their alumni-relations. I trust they would keep it at a respectful bar. And like I said before, the Giants are one of if to the only team that has this bar in place and the only team that has gone down the slippery slope is the Rays. But they are an expansion team having MAJOR trouble putting fannies in the seats, so they need to try those goofy stunts.

I think Mays just wanted to trot out his old white guy get off my lawn schtick

Gave up worrying about that when I saw it was a morning game on the East Coast following a night game. No way we were going to win this one. The fix is in from the scheduler's office.

The pitcher he faces has nothing to do with the real stats (WHIP, ERA, K, GO/FO, etc). That only effects W/L and to a lesser extent, IP.

Agreed, but when it has been a national game, or one with a wider audience than the Bay Area, he has not done well. Like today.

Yesterday, Marty was, in the same segment, talking about how Bum is in serious contention to start the ASG, and how he is not sure Kershaw is a legit AS.

Coming into today, their numbers were almost identical.
