The shortstop, 3rd baseman and 2nd baseman all made errors in today's game. Belt and Morse, what are you two thinking? Don't be selfish, this is a team sport!

After today's game, I think I'm ready to write this season off. This team looks pathetic.
I am with you, but it is just April.

But it is now 4 consecutive months if this level of play.

I know, but I don't think many teams turn their season around after this kind of start. Its possible, but, just guessing, not very likely.

Nice to see Panik and Hernandez show some patience against the rookie relief pitcher who HAD a 5+ ERA.

Well, at least the Giants found a capable replacement for Bumgarner (so far). Now, about the rest of this pitching staff (minus Cain and Strickland) . . .

If this team does end up as a seller, do they shop Cueto AND Moore?

what are their contracts? last year for cueto?
Moore has a 9/1 option for '18 and a 10/0.75 option for '19.

Cueto makes 21M per from '17-'21 with a 22/5 option for '22. He can opt out after this season and receive the 5M buyout.

Moores contract is very favorable, even for a 3/4 starter. Cueto is an elite starter, so there will be demand for him.

Blach effort was wasted. Solid start by him.

Hitters were 1-8 with RISP, and in 12 innings, the Giants had exactly one walk. Now 1-7 in games with 1 walk or less. Terrible plate discipline.

Team slugging percentage is a gawdy .341, and the OBP is .288. Yuck!

Fitting end to a crappy month of baseball. Hope May is better. It can't get any worse.

blach looked in total control today, and you certainly would not want to pull him for a pinch hitter....

at the risk of sacrilege.... this is the third ball down the line that i've seen that arroyo has not been able to to handle. granted all were hot shots, but i can't help but think pablo or duffy would have gloved a few of them. is arroyo's range to the line (ie the fall down move) limited or am i over reacting......

i love a 3bagger that has that quick line lunge...

He's a SS. It may be easier for him to play SS and Nunez to play 3rd, at least Nunez has played 3rd quite a bit. But Arroyo's D is not our problem at the moment. :D

There has been plenty wrong about April for the 2017 Giants. How about looking at some of the good?

Kelby Tomlinson - In the 5 games he's appeared since replacing Crawford on the roster, Tomlinson has gone 4 for 8 with a run and a stolen base. He looks like a nice player to have off the bench so far.
Buster Posey - Despite his lack of extra base hits, Posey is still sporting an .863 OPS. That is good for 7th among MLB catchers.
Brandon Belt - His offensive performance (.840 OPS) puts him in the top 10 category among 1st basemen in MLB.
Ty Blach - He looked okay as a reliever, but in two starts he has gone 12 innings, allowing only 7 hits, 3 walks and 2 runs.
Hunter Strickland - He has looked to be the star reliever so far for the Giants' bullpen. In 12 outings, he has pitched 10 innings, gave up 5 hits and 5 walks, with no runs and struck out 11 batters.
Matt Cain - Who would have guessed that Cain would pitch this well in April after his last few seasons and this spring training? In 5 starts, he sports a 1.17 WHIP, 2.35 ERA and a 7.24 K/9.
Cory Gearrin - Despite an unseemly WHIP (1.44), the relief pitcher has only allowed one earned run in 8.1 innings pitched (and allowed only 1 of 4 inherited runners to score in two appearances)
