Soler sucks
Soler will hit. He has a track record. The one I'm not sure about is Chapman. Not sure why people were expecting so much from him at the plate. I think he's hit over .250 once and has struck out over a thousand times in 6 and a half seasons. Good defender who might run into one every once in a while but that's about it.

He has a track record of being so streaky that he takes entered seasons off. Then he scorches the ball for an entire season. I like the IDEA of Soler more than I actually like Soler.

I like the signing though. The Giants needed a couple of guys who can turn the game around with one swing

The Giants have to do something about the Roger twins. They are both flat out awful. pitching 18.90 ERA and 3.00 WHIP across his first 3.1 innings with the Giants.

What?

Who are you talking about? The twins are not GREAT this year, but they aren’t that bad.

This is a forum of quite knowledgeable fans. Coming in here and spouting complete BS doesn’t fly here. If your typos made your post hard to understand, then please clarify it. Otherwise, clean up your game if you want to stay here.

I'm seeing this for the Rogers twins:

Tyler
14 appearances, 12.2 IP, 15 H, 0 BB, 8 K, 0.3 WAR, 1.18 WHIP, 2.84 ERA
Taylor
10 8.1 8 2 7 0.0 1.20 4.32

I'd say Tyler is doing just fine. Taylor had two bad outings. 9.30 in SD where he was left in to pitch two innings and gave up a run, and last Sat vs. PIT where he gave up two bombs.

I don't see any real cause for concern here. Doval/Tyler/Taylor/Walker are trustworthy. Probably Miller and Jackson are going to be fine. The other two spots? whooo boy....

Welcome? You certainly came in with guns blazing. You'll find we all have our favorite players to lambast from time to time but it doesn't come without pushback (as you've already seen). Please check out the "Introduce Yourself" thread and enjoy the banter here.

I wonder why? Both have been successful relievers in the past. I expect they will be key pieces of the bullpen again before all is said and done.

Of course you would wonder why. The stats this guy posted were invented out of whole cloth. That’s why I wonder if much of his post is a typo and he just needs to clarify what he intended to say.

Recency bias on my part I suppose. I think he blew the game Saturday night in the 9th giving up those 3 runs and that was probably fresh in my mind and I assumed his info was accurate..

At the risk of incurring your wrath and disdain is this a defensive stat? I’ve never heard of it

No wrath, no disdain.

Yes. OAA is an advanced metric that measures defense.
So we are strong up the middle on defense along with a solid defensive catcher with a great arm. Good sign
