Is it you tzill who came up with the Oxy nickname?

I doubt it would be embraced by Giants management, but it's farking brilliant. I can picture the merchandise...

Let's get some runs!!

Time once again to play, "Guess The Gender" of the Giant fans in the stands.I'm guessing a dude and a lady...but not sure.

And a double play. Freaking Latos.

I don't get it. Belt, with some speed, gets a leadoff single. Why not a little hit and run, or bunt him over? Crawford has been hitting it well of late. Instead, ManBur with a GiDP. :L

Freaking Noggin cannot figure out how to manufacture runs. :noidea:

Let's score some runs on the Commies.

Gonba be tough for Cain to go five now

Cain says 'nuh uh'

That's your ace right there. Rough first inning, shakes it off, dominates the rest of the way (so far).

Our long-hair 'ace': not so much.

Down two, with the pitcher's spot coming up, I think you gotta let Burriss hit there. As for the hit and run...I agree. Why not? As much as I've enjoyed Burris' play so far, the dude has NO power. I think Boch needs to take more chances with the bottom of the order.

I have in no way given up on Freak, but the baton is clearly being passed. He's our #2, maybe even #3 now.

What do you guys think about the Latos trade? Is he worth all that talent the Reds gave up?

But the pitcher's spot was not coming up. Crawford was up next, then Cain. So there was some hope there. So if ManBur sacrifices Belt to 2nd, and they walk Crawdad, then at least we have turned the lineup over. And stranger things have happened than Cain getting a hit.

With what they have now, I think its a fair trade. Alonso plays 1st and Votto is signed to a Mega-deal so he's blocked. They already had a ML ready catching prospect ready to take over so the other was expendable (comparable to Susac/Joseph, except both farther along) and Volquez is injury-prone and run his course.

I think they may have been able to get a better pitcher, but maybe not or maybe they were just sold on Latos. But I like the trade for them, all things considered.
