This is where I think a rule change needs to take place regarding unearned runs. They should be earned if the error is on the pitcher.

I see the new guys have adjusted well to being on the team. This lineup has taken a total of 48 pitches through 5 innings.

Back in the day I would have expected Posey to do the same thing to the lefty Ryu, but he did as expected instead and grounded out weakly

I'm starting to think that Posey is beyond his days as a productive regular. I really hope I'm jumping the gun by a few years on that assessment, though.

He's still a productive regular, let's not get carried away. But he shouldn't be anywhere near the top of the order or cleanup. He's a 6-hitter now.

Unfortunately, they got into our pen first.

He's still a productive regular, let's not get carried away. But he shouldn't be anywhere near the top of the order or cleanup. He's a 6-hitter now.

He looked bad at the end of last season, throughout spring training and 6 games into this season. I'm not ready to write him off but I do think its time to begin thinking about whether he is a top 10 catcher offensively.

And does exactly what the guy he replaced was doing. Not the best first AB with the team. Hope his next is much better.

He's probably not, but even a middling hitting good defensive catcher is a regular decent player. Not a cleanup hitter though.
