Do mine eyes deceive me, or does Buster Posey now have his first RBI of the season?
It is true! He has finally driven in his first run of the season! At the rate he is going, he's guaranteed to have at least 10 RBIs by season's end!

3-2 game. Top 8.

Bum at 96 pitches.

I know the bullpen is blown after last night, but surely they can get the last six outs. Why is Bum beginning the 8th? Didn't Noggin learn from the last time he tried this? Hope I am wrong, which I usually am.

edit: and Bumm immediately gives up a leadoff double. :L

Bum told Bochy he could throw 120 pitches today because they needed him to. Putting him out there to start the 8th was the right call given the circumstances.

We now have what is known as a “winning streak”.

Put this one in the books.

Are teams allowed to win consecutive games like that? I don't know, but the team may get in trouble for this.

Damn, that was a great ballgame. First visit to the Cove this year. Lemme tell you, I can get use to this lower attendance totals. Felt like I could breathe there for the first time in 10 years.

Haven't read the thread yet, so sorry if I'm being redundant, but I thought this was just a wonderfully complete baseball game. It had a little bit of everything. There was a homer, there was a small-ball rally, there was some excellent individual plays on both sides and generally great team defense, there was great starting pitching and bullpening. And it was a nice quick pace.

I was thinking about this one, and I actually think it was the right call to let Bum start the 8th inning.

1) 96 pitches isn't a crazy amount for Bum
2) 18 innings were played last night and every pitcher was used
3) He was facing the bottom of the order
4) He's your Ace, got to show him a little bit of respect and confidence

In the end, I think it was the right move both to let him start the 8th and to have the quick hook on him too. Give him a shot versus the 8-9-1 hitters to get to the 9th, but at the first sign of danger yank him.

Thank goodness Moronta was filthy today, though.

The pitching is off the charts. QSs and Fyww, ftw! The hitting? Well, it could be better, by it may just be enough.

I would like to see some wins vs winning teams tho.
