I find sitting Ackley interesting. Ackley doesn't have extreme platoon splits like Almonte (.270 difference in OPS) or even milder splits like Seager (.111 difference in OPS). Maybe he just needed the day off.

Ahh semi disappointed Ackley isn't in the lineup. Maybe we're just trying to get Willie some playing time. Hopefully Ackley can come in for a pinch hit opportunity late in the game. Out of all of our young guys, he's the one that consistently hits the ball hard even on his outs and 0 for nights.

I told my wife Willie would be in today, but figured for Seager. Whatever I guess. This is a big game today because if you want to be the best you have to beat the best and A's are the guys to beat and we have already lost one series to them and this would be 0-2. You can't gain on your division by going 1-3 in a series against them.

Off subject question; How much longer does Romero stick around? Like the kid, but he is becoming a hacker when he use to be a hitter. I could see Franklin or Gillispie coming up for him soon.

With this coaching staff it's hard to tell. I know if it was Eric Wedge it'd be around the All-star break. I'd give him a few more weeks with his current role. He's not getting regular ABs so it's hard to judge.
