This is one of those sayings that bugs the hell out of me. I can judge a player in 3 games, you either got it or you don't. I can not come up with even one player that stunk in the beginning and turned good 3 years later. It does take 2 or 3 years for a player to get comfortable mentally so he can just react, but the (IT) factor is clear from day one.

Noon, there have been HUNDREDS of guys whose first year play had no relevance to their career trajectory. I don't even know where to begin with a list like this. Aaron Rodgers? Mark Anderson? DeSean Jackson? Santonio Holmes? Sidney Rice? Man, those are just first thoughts, I'm sure I could sit down and come up with thousands of examples - going in either direction - of guys whose first years look nothing like the rest.

no, that's not the only reason. His first preseason was nothing short of horrible. I remember how upset my Packer buddies were over having gotten him. His few regular season appearances that year were pretty mediocre as well. Needless to say, there was nothing of any normal evidence in 2005 to suggest what was to come.

(Noon, there have been HUNDREDS of guys whose first year play had no relevance to their career trajectory.) Ya but that was not what I was saying. I can tell in the first 20 minutes if a player will be any good or not. And no player has ever fooled me.

After seeing them play just a few snaps. Shea good situational pass rusher, will never be a every down DE. Long HOF monster. Bostic will be very good, not BU good. AJ top 10 WR to be.

Chris Long and Eli Manning both immediately come to mind.

Guys that had fathers play for the most part are always good. They have been around football their whole lives and get insight from ex players. Neither surprised me.

Just from the Packers guys like Brett Favre, Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Nick Collins weren't very good in their first year or two.

yeah but Noon saw them all coming. Mark Anderson especially, after Year One, Bears fans were all psyched about Mark, but there was Noon, calming everyone down, saying "flash in the pan".

Right Noon? ;)

Well I'm not claiming to see all and know all. I have missed on quite a few. But most guys you can read day one. I have never had a player that I thought sucked turn good a year or two later.

No but they did show signs of maybe one day being good right? You could see the talent they had.

dude, you are saying something that I don't believe you on. Most people thought Aaron Rodgers sucked after his first year. You are among the few who didn't think Aaron Rodgers sucked? Cause I sure did. So did almost every single Packer fan. You really didnt?
