Don't even get me started on Celtics Al Horford. Dude puts on the shamrock and his age drops 15 years. He was ass in Philly, but suddenly in Boston he is rejuvenated???
He played fairly well with the kids in OKC.

Seriously? Do you watch the game? Tatum's shot was not there last night, clearly. What did he do like all great players? He fed his teammates. He could drop 40 in the next game. Now he's great again?

This see this series going 7. Unless somehow the C's get game 2. That would change everything.
Right?

But, Boston could win in 6.

Don't take it too hard, fucking with the new guy since he said Tatum was the best player in the NBA. I like Tatum but still, he was 3-17. That can't happen if Boston is going to win this series, if it does, Boston has something special in the making.

I guess it just wasn't FUN in Philly.

They are easily the toughest defense the Ws have faced. Their length and ability to switch everything always gives the Ws fits. That's why it will be the toughest matchup for the Ws this playoffs.

I give the Ws the edge but not by much. The Ws defense is also really good (a slight bit below Boston) but their offense is better than Boston's by a greater margin. Too many scorers on the Ws, plus more championship pedigree.

A great win last night by the Cs especially considering Tatum had what only 12 points? If the Cs can remain motivated enough and Smart and Co actually play smart defense they have a great shot at winning. I do not see them shooting lights out again but you never know.

I still see this series going 7 though

If I am the Warriors I just flush that 4th quarter. If I am the Celtics, I enjoy that it happened, but I flush it too. That 4th quarter happened because guys like Horford, White and Pritchard had quarters they are unlikely to repeat and the Warriors played a terrible quarter that they are also unlikely to repeat.

What is worrisome for the Warriors is that Tatum went 3 for17 and the Celtics still won. Tatum is unlikely to do that again.

Worrisome for the Celtics is that Klay and Dray didn't play particularly well. They were a combined 8 for 26.

I thought Dray played with a lot of energy, which is usually a good thing for the Warriors. But it wasn't a focused energy. It looked like he was trying too hard to backup some of his talk instead of just playing his game and letting the whole team back his talk.

Kerr left Iggy in too long in the 4th. Iggy did hit a nice shot and made a couple of nice defensive plays when he first entered the game, but then spent the rest of his time being late on rotations because he just can't get there anymore.

Yep, almost even teams. Feels like it's going 7.

I hope Kerr sees what we all do, which is Iggy is pretty much done. We didn't need him all playoffs and most of the year, we don't need him now. Those are minutes either Payton should get (maybe still too hurt to play) or the other 7 can play more minutes.

Yeah, Iggy played a little over 12 minutes which feels about right since he can still do some things, especially on offense. But most of them seemed to be in the 4th quarter. He needs to go 2-3 minutes at a time and then get him out.

Totally agree

Unless Poole plays like that every game.

Which I doubt.
I mean, there are paths to a 6 or even 5 game series (if Warriors lose game 2 they are losing in 5-6 I think)

But those are far less likely

See I feel the opposite, I feel like his value late in his career has been mostly defensive and he's just too old to be effective. I hope he barely plays anymore.

@Wamu @Gman @LogicMan @Kawhi_2_Tatum

Bruh.

Congrats!!!

Incredible 4th quarter.

I wasn't expecting that outta the Celtics. Tatum had another bad game, dammit. Heard this this morning.

The good guys in green are the first team in Finals history to be down by double digits in the 4th and win by double digits.

How about the old man of team Horford hitting clutch buckets? He had a big game. And they did a damn good job keeping Steph in check after he exploded for 21 in the 1st quarter.

There are always paths.

Torontos path required two career altering injuries to warriors stars

Doesn’t mean I’d bet on that one

I agree going down 2-0 going back to Boston is almost a death knell.

But frankly the dubs deserve the benefit of the doubt that they aren’t dead until the head is really cut off

Yeah, it can be tough with a guy like him. It'snot like he was completely useless last night. He's a smart, veteran player. He hit 3 of 4 shots and had a couple of nice defensive plays...but yeah, the rest was just him not quite getting to where he needed to be defensively. That's why I think 2-3 minutes here and there can get help.

But I do see the point of some of the younger guys just having a couple of minutes extra.

I think the series goes 6 or 7, the teams seem evenly matched. I'm sure ABC wants that, now that we are in the land of TV rerun city.

WHOOOO boy. I got too emotionally invested in last nights game and was in jeopardy of snapping at someone. Don't know why, but yesterdays game stressed me out more than a game actually should. Might have to address that soon.

On a personal note, Celtics played a helluva game. Tatum had an off game but the rest of the team came to play. White and Horford were amazing. Role players all did their jobs really well. The Warriors "others" lost this game for them. Steph had a great game but there were too many defensive lapses and turnovers. Klay, Poole and Draymond all need to be better.

I guess throughout the season I've been mesmerized by Jordan Poole's offense that I didn't notice his defense. In the playoffs its become abundantly clear to me that he's one of the worst defensive players in the NBA. It's crazy. If you take all the players who play at least 20 minutes a night, he's easily the worst defensive player. That is something that will need to be addressed.

Yeah he's maybe not ready for a playoffs moment due to defense. And that may change the calculus of how much and when to pay him. One thing is sure he can only be out there with 4 good defenders around him

Last night to me wasnt so much the Warriors failing as the Celtics just taking it in the 4th quarter. If White, Horford, and Pritchard go 13-19 from 3 you're going to lose that game. Kudos to them, and if that happens again just hand them the title. Not too concerned about that.
