A lot of the analysts and the prediction models love the Celtics. I've been saying on this thread the Warriors are the heavy underdogs, but you guys don't believe me! It's actually fun to see them as the underdog, though. Hopefully, they are extra motivated.

Check out these projections by the stat nerds. ESPN has the Celtics at 85.9% to win the title. 538 has the Celtics at 79% chance to win. I'm thinking that these prediction models are missing something because these two teams appear to be much closer than that. 85.9% would be reasonable if the Celtics were facing the Sacramento Kings.

538 knows dick about the NBA. They are the Montalban of prediction sites for the NBA, and this prediction is basically saying the Warriors are a lock just like Monty predicting their loss

If the Dubs win, the " Curry is better / equal to LeBron " bullshit narrative continues.

Just looked it up, in NBA Finals history the home team has won game 1 77% of the time (57 out of 74)

Home court is also most meaningful for the NBA vs the other big sports (NHL, NFL, MLB), with home teams winning 60% of all home games.

The Finals have gone to 7 games 19 times before, with the home team winning game 7 15 of those times (77%)
