There is other things in this article. But I always though that first it's going to be 4 on 4, then if still tied 3 on 3. And if still tied after second OT there is a shoutout.
This is just silly. It's gimmicky and stupid. It makes hockey look like the red headed stepchild trying to get attention. Th y have multiple overtimes in Basketball, extra innings in baseball, they even have sudden death in the NFL. So why not go back to doing things the old way with a twist. If you don't want ties, than simply keep playing 5 minute, 5 on 5 periods untill someone scores. I may not be the biggest basketball fan, but games that have triple or quadruple over time are fun to watch.
