To be fair, he wasn't trying to slide. He was going forward as a RB so he wasn't a defenseless player under the rules. It was incidental contact on a tackle. It's why you tell your valuable QB's to slide and avoid the hits.

It's not ok, but it's avoidable by smart QB's. Can that play be flagged? Yes it can, but not as often when the QB goes up field and doesn't slide.

I loved Carson at NDSU and still think he is a good QB but a injury prone QB in the NFL for sure it happens to all kinds of players at all positions throughout NFL history.Talent is not enough you still need a lotta luck and determination to become a NFL great. It’s early in Wentz’s career but he has a long road ahead just to be considered having a good career let alone great.

It was an exciting season. Having Wentz go down before halftime sucked and made the game much less enjoyable...but who knows if they even win if Wentz doesn’t get hurt. It just made the game way less exciting for me. I really didn’t want to see Josh McCown play the majority of the game for us.
