I wonder when the last time ( since they went to 3 division ) that the 3 best records in one league were all in the same division this late in the season?? Season is 2/3 over

Good observation. Didn't see that one coming at all.

It sucks that the Brewers are not in the mix but I am happy and excited for the Cubbies

2010 AL East, Rays/Yankees/Red Sox had the top 3 records in the AL on August 27th (128/129 games in).

2007 NL West finished the regular season with the top 3 records in the NL with the Diamondbacks/Rockies/Padres. Technically the Padres finished 0.5 game behind Philadelphia because of game 163 they lost to Colorado (the "did Matt Holliday touch the plate game").

So thank you for the research idea. I think the answer would be the 2007 NL West, which had 3 best records in the NL after 162 games on September 30th. Padres and Rockies were technically tied with the Phillies with 89 wins.

Interesting for sure, got to think the Mets, Dodgers, Giants and Nationals will make things interesting in the race for the NL's 3 best records.

Yep, Mets are a-comin. Huge series with the Pirates coming up, and they'll miss the best Pittsbugh pitchers

October is so much better when the Cubs are involved!
:stephena:

Someone doesn't remember the Cubs fans from the Disney board. October is just fine without the Cubs

Red Sox were 'good guys' at one point. Cubs are a young team. No chance im rooting for any level of success for them
