I think there's a good chance Breeland may surprise as a contributor this year, as well.

I'd like to see Amerson make a huge impact this year. Reed is already being labelled a joker! that's great, he will be a superstar if he can stay healthy.

I honestly don't even see Rambo making the team. Remember, this is a guy that was so bad at tackling that he couldn't even help on special teams, let alone play safety in the NFL. This is not a weakness that changes over night. You have to want to tackle, first and foremost. IF the desire isn't there, then technique doesn't make a difference. Not all players want to stick their head in there and take on a 250lb TE. He seems to be one of those players. I see our safeties being Merrifield, Jackson, Thomas, and Clark. Rambo was a 6th round pick by another regime and can be let go with little pain.

I hope Rambo turns the corner this year but I'm skeptical he will. Hopefully Thomas is everything we've heard he is and learns angles and tackles. I like Amerson and think he'll be a solid CB for the skins. They can't be worse can they?:noidea:

He may have played better in the Broncos game, but he regressed and was eventually shelved for the year. He also could never break into the STs, which every 6th round pick needs to play to stay on the team. As bad as we were, it is telling that he still couldn't help in that area.

like i said the films i saw , even after the broncos game showed he improved his tackling .

and again i think davis can push him off the roster . in OTA's davis has shown well

Maybe you are right, but I didn't see it and apparently the coaches didn't either. He was inactive the last 3 games of the season. You would think if he was playing better, we could have used him as S was probably our worst position in terms of depth. We ended up using a CB as our S, not Rambo. Again, he couldn't even help on STs.

I'm rooting for Rambo, but it's going to be very hard for him to make the team. He's going to have to really have to be solid in his tackling, especially this preseason. I'll never forget what Chris Johnson did to him, last year in his first game as a pro. Smh Then, he was looking increasingly horrible and was benched. He did come around towards the end of the season. He needs to use that momentum into this season or he will be cut. Period.

:agree: about tackling. All my years being around HS and college football players you either have the desire or you don't. You can teach technique but you cannot teach someone to want to hit.

I'm gonna give Rambo a pass last year was just horrible all over and being thrown to the wolves didn't help matters our pass rush wasn't very good leaving our secondary exposed even the sure tackler in Fletcher had problems wrapping players up

i dont see rambo's tackling woes as a matter of want too . i see it as a matter of technique

anything that happened last year towards the end when it comes to young players playing i have to throw out

shanny didnt seem interested in letting young guys like compton , ribeye , gettis hurt chase b jenkins get reps

i think once you got into his doghouse you were in there most likely for good .

I have nothing against Rambo and hope he turns it around. But he has always had tackling issues. That was the knock on him in college and a major reason why he dropped to the 6th round. Go back and look at some of his college film. He regularly missed tackles. So to expect him to turn it around after one season is probably not realistic expectations. I hope I'm wrong, but I think its a long shot for him to make this team. Especially since the UFDA S we signed (his name escapes me right now) has apparently opened a lot of eyes in camp so far. The only way he makes it is by becoming a standout on STs. Who thinks that is really going to happen?
