Brief?

He seemingly fits a lot better on that team than KAT.

Only because they made the stupid Gobert trade.

And Towns is better as a 5 than a 4. Randle can do more on the perimeter.

True, but Randle helps them do that bully ball and be more physical....

It is offense.

Both are physical. Neither are good moving their feet defensively.

Randle fits offensively alongside Gobert better because he is more versatile playing on the perimeter.

That is it.

Also, this team made the west Finals last year. Right now they are barely beating the Warriors without their best player.

Let’s not act like they are a lot better with Randle. That simply is not the case.

I remember at the time people were laughing about Randle being traded for Towns.....Randle proving the doubters wrong.

He has been awesome in Minnesota.
It is nice he is breaking the playoffs stigma on him, still don't love the trade fit. If in the end the Wolves end up with Randle long term at the cost of Reid than the trade is devastating. If they can keep both then I am good with the trade all around.

I think there is zero chance Reid does not opt out, and if Randle does not I dont see how they keep him.

Several points this post-season when Ant has been off his game, Randle bullying in the paint has been what has kept the team alive.

He has his warts, but when Wolves have needed him most he has been exactly what they need. A lot of value in that.

No twolf has been consistent in this run, they are kept alive by being a deep team, and there has always been someone to step in...except game 1. There we saw what it looks like when none of them showed up.

All the players in the trade still have a weakness. He is playing better than he did 2 years ago but still 14% from 3 in this series. Still, I like the way he is playing. He’s given them a big boost and more aggressive

3 games is a limited sample size....BTW, he made 11 of 28 vs the Lakers.

I agree with the 2nd part.

In year 1 of the new deals (next year) the Wolves will have approx $60M to give to those two. That should be plenty to keep both. Especially with Reid proving he is a top bench player and not a starter during this playoff run.

Or they could decide to do a sign and trade with one or the other and bring in a different position. Right now an upgrade at PG and running out a small ball lineup with Shannon Jr at the 4 moving forward might be more impactful come playoff time.

But at some point this year or next they have to find a legit rim defender to back up Gobert as he isn’t getting any younger.

Unlikely that Maulauch or Sorber are there with the pick 18, both would be good long term.

Rasheer Fleming is not the mold, but awesome rim protection and can stretch the floor. He would be my favorite pick I for them I think. 6'9" is not too small for a Center anymore

Yeah, agreed—if Gobert can show up like that again against Draymond, it would flip the script big time. I’m skeptical too, but it’d be cool to see him prove people wrong.
Also randomly—was checking out this site where you can design your own basketball gear, kind of a fun distraction during all this playoff hype: C2C Custom Basketball Uniform
